Unless your business peaks in summer thanks to tourism, chances are we're entering the slow season together (yes, me too). But hey – you don’t have to vanish. You can use this calmer time to finally catch up on the things you’ve been pushing aside during your busy months.
One of those things might be marketing automation – which takes a bit of focus (and usually some content prep), but pays off big time.
Let me share a few simple marketing automations I’m working on right now – both for myself and my clients:
Schedule Your Content (Social + Email)
There’s no need to buy or subscribe to any new tools (unless you really want to and it makes sense for your budget). You can simply use native options like Meta Business Suite, or the Canva Content Planner if you have Canva Pro.
Focus on consistency over volume – 1-2 posts per week is enough.
Repurpose what you already have: turn a blog post into a carousel, or a great email into a quick Reel.
Create once, share smartly.
Welcome New Subscribers Automatically
If you're using an email platform to collect and engage with your newsletter subscribers, now’s a great time to audit your setup.
Set up a simple 2–3 email welcome flow to keep new subscribers engaged on autopilot.
Introduce your brand, offer value, and guide them to your best content or product (or both).

Collect Google Reviews on Autopilot
Google Reviews have long been a key part of customer decision-making. Even if you don’t have a lot of competition right now (lucky you), there’s no reason not to build your reputation – your next competitor might pop up tomorrow.
After a service or product is delivered, set up an email asking for a review.
For services: send the email right after completion or the next day.
For products: wait 3–5 days to give your customer time to experience it.
The simplest and most user-friendly format uses a short link directly to the review pop-up: https://g.page/r/YOUR_PLACE_ID/review
Note: Custom review link works only for verified Google Profiles.
You don't need to be doing more – you just need to be strategic.

Use Instagram Keyword Replies for FAQ's
You can set up automated keyword replies in Instagram DMs. It triggers when a specific word is used in a message.
Here are a few suggestions:
PRICE or PRICING – sends your service or product list
AVAILABILITY or MEETING – shares your online booking calendar
OPENING HOURS – sends your current holiday schedule
💡 Just scroll through your DMs and look for recurring questions – then automate the answers. |
Set a Purposeful Auto-Reply (Not Just "OOO")
If you’re using a shared email like info@ or hello@, add an auto-responder to manage expectations and still offer value.
Include:
A link to your blog, latest offer, or lead magnet
A clear response time (e.g. "I’ll get back to you within 2 working days")
A friendly tone that shows you're still present—just moving slower
